I grew up working on a small farm in northern Minnesota.Dad handed me a double bit axe when I was 9 years old and said " come on, I am going to teach you how to cut pulp." My next 7 years were spent working as a logger, aside from school time. No summer vacation, no free weekends. When I was15 dad gave me his old Anscoflex twin lens reflex camera with the caution "using this is pretty expensive be careful." I bought film and was determined to learn everything about photography! When I was 20 I found an Agfa Silette 35 mm camera at a garage sale for $4.50. New learning curve! I set up a darkroom in the basement and spent years shooting and developing Black and white film and prints, until I thought I knew what I was doing. Wedding and portrait work took over my free time until I opened my full time Photo studio.(dad was right, this hobby ran into money!) I'm retired now so I can take some pictures and relive the years of negative, slides and digital images I've amassed over the past 48years. It looks like about 1 million when I get them all scanned. I currently have over 857,000 in my Lightroom catalog. It will keep me busy...
I've quit the day to day studio work and prefer to do my own assignments.I still love portrait work and do as much as I can.I've gone all digital in the past 18 years and teach Digital Imaging and Photoshop in the local Community Education classes.I am currently looking to expanding my beauty, scenic ,old fashioned, and fantasy type fine art prints and cards.I also do a considerable amount of Editing and teaching in Photoshop.
You may guess that I am also an avid fisherman and a Mermaid hunter.Slowing down a bit because I'm also a grandfather of 4(so far).
